Beach Dressy Casual -
Our wedding will be held right on the beach, with the ceremony taking place in the sand. We recommend beach semi-dressy attire—think comfortable yet polished. Lightweight fabrics and sandals or other beach-friendly footwear are perfect for the setting.
We'd love for our guests to join us in our wedding colors to create beautifully coordinated group photos! No need to match exactly - just have fun with the colors that suit you best!
Where is the reception?
Join us as we celebrate our love and family at AMA Restaurant in the heart of Hanalei. Known for its delectable, Asian-inspired dishes, AMA offers freshly prepared noodle, ramen, and mazemen dishes made with locally sourced ingredients.
Pair your meal with Hanalei’s finest selection of wines and bespoke beverages while enjoying a breathtaking view of the lush Kauai jungle. It’s the perfect setting to continue the celebration together.
PARKING & TRAVEL INFORMATION FOR OUR WEDDING DAY
Hanalei is a charming little town where both our ceremony and reception will take place. Due to limited parking, we kindly encourage guests to carpool if possible.
• Arrival: Please arrive at the Hanalei Pavilion Parking Lot by 3:00 PM for our ceremony, which will begin promptly at 3:30 PM.
• Photos: After the ceremony, we kindly ask that you stay for group photos, which should wrap up by 4:30 PM.
• Reception Parking: Following the photos, you can make your way across the main street to find parking at AMA Restaurant for the reception at 5:00 PM.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation—we’re so excited to celebrate with you!
Are kids included?
While we adore your little ones, we’ve chosen to keep our wedding ceremony and reception adults-only due to guest limitations at both the beach ceremony and reception sites. However, we understand that you may want to include your kids on this special trip! We kindly ask that you make accommodations for them on the day of the wedding and reception.
Thank you so much for understanding and helping us create the intimate celebration we’ve envisioned.
What’s the weather like in Kauai in November?
In November, Kauai’s weather is typically mild and pleasant, with daytime temperatures ranging from the mid-70s to low 80s Fahrenheit (24-28°C), and nighttime temperatures in the mid-60s to low 70s (18-22°C). You can expect a mix of sun and occasional rain showers, as November is the beginning of the wetter season in Hawaii, especially on the north shore where Hanalei and Princeville are located. However, showers are often brief, with sunny spells between.
For our wedding, it’s a good idea to plan for light layers and perhaps an umbrella, just in case. The south shore (like Poipu) tends to be drier and sunnier in November, so guests staying in that area may experience slightly better weather than the north shore.
What to pack for a week in Kauai?
What to Pack for a Week in Kauai
• Beachwear: Pack swimsuits, beach cover-ups, and a quick-dry towel. You’ll be spending plenty of time on the sand and in the water!
• Lightweight Clothing: Kauai’s November weather is warm but can have some rain. Bring breathable clothing like shorts, sundresses, and T-shirts, along with a few light layers for cooler evenings.
• Footwear: Comfortable sandals for the beach and casual outings, water shoes if you plan on snorkeling (yes they’re dorky, but you don’t to get cut by the lava rocks or reefs https://a.co/d/bU4WUyf), and a pair of sturdy hiking shoes if you’re heading out on any trails.
• Sun Protection: Kauai’s sun can be strong, so pack reef-safe sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, and sunglasses to protect yourself.
• Rain Jacket or Light Poncho: November can bring short rain showers, especially on the north shore, so a light waterproof layer is useful.
• Reusable Water Bottle: Stay hydrated, especially if you’re spending a lot of time outdoors!
• Snorkel Gear: If you love snorkeling and want to skip rental fees, bring your own snorkel gear. Otherwise, rentals are widely available.
• Small Daypack: Perfect for hiking, beach days, or just carrying essentials as you explore.
• Insect Repellent: Good to have for hikes and forested areas, as mosquitoes can be present.
• Camera or Smartphone: To capture Kauai’s breathtaking scenery and beautiful memories!
• Optional: Binoculars for spotting whales (seasonal) and other wildlife, a book or e-reader for beach relaxation, and a portable phone charger.
With this list, you’ll be set for a week of adventure, relaxation, and stunning views in Kauai!
Where to grocery shop?
If you have a Costco membership, it’s an excellent option for stocking up on groceries, snacks, and supplies for your stay in Kauai. Costco is conveniently located about 5 minutes from Lihue Airport at:
4300 Nuhou St, Lihue, HI 96766
After Costco, you can pick up smaller items or specialty goods at Foodland. There’s a Foodland in Princeville, close to where you’ll be staying, at:
5-4280 Kuhio Hwy, Princeville, HI 96722
Foodland is great for fresh produce, local treats, and last-minute essentials. It also has a decent wine and poke selection!
There are other Foodlands and markets if you are staying in a different area than the Northshore.
